Heather Fisher PT, DPT

Heather became a member of the Accent on Hands team in September, 2007. Prior to joining Accent on Hands, she was a supervisor and senior physical therapist at Hackensack University Medical Center , where she worked for six years. At Hackensack , Heather worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She also enjoyed mentoring physical therapy interns as a Clinical Instructor. Heather’s primary areas of interest include the treatment of sports and orthopedic injuries and neurological conditions, specifically Parkinson’s Disease and vestibular dysfunction.

Heather graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She continued her education at the College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University , where she earned a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2002. In May 2005, Heather earned her clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Heather presented at a national conference for the American Physical Therapy Association and attends regular continuing education courses to further enrich her professional abilities.

Heather is a lifelong member of the Westfield community and graduated from Westfield High School in 1996. After living in Hoboken for five years, she returned to Westfield where she resides with her husband and son, Michael.
